The Courthouse Motel in Independence, CA is a quaint little inn. Located in the scenic Eastern Sierras, we are part of the Owens Valley. We are more than merely a stop-over. Whether you are exploring Mount Whitney, visiting the historical Manzanar, or simply fishing or hiking. You pick your elevation for hiking, from 3904 feet to 14,000 feet plus. There are several fishing-holes, ponds & streams around to fish. We are the town and place to be in. There is one more thing to do, DO NOTHING. Pack a couple of books, or a canvas. Drive up the mountains, pick a running stream, read, paint or simply relax in nature, far far away from artificial intelligence. Connect with your inner self.
We love our earth friendly hiker friends. You may be doing the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) or the JMT (John Muir Trail). We are the closest place to Onion Valley trailhead, Baxter Pass Trail Head, Kearsarge Pass Trailhead & Shepherd Pass Trailhead.
We have ten (rooms) offering a clean, cozy, comfortable stay. All rooms have Micro-waves, Mini-Refrigerators, heating & air-conditioning. Five of our deluxe rooms offer bathtubs, whereas our smaller/economy rooms have either bathtubs or stall showers. Amenities are alike, to offer you a pleasant stay. Remember, we are not Glitz Carlton, just a simple Inn. If you like what we are, come over. We are eager to meet & host you.
